SUPPORTING RESEARCH
National data shows that participation in an early college program has multiple positive outcomes for students. Early college students have a higher daily attendance rate (95%) and a higher graduation rate (92%) than their non-early college peers. More importantly, they are ore likely to go directly to college after high school and graduate college within 5 years of enrollment compared to their peers. In a city where over 35% of adults never graduated high school and 26.1% of families live below the poverty level, an early college program has the potential to change Lawrence's students' life trajectories by affording them opportunities traditionally only available to their affluent peers.
